On Monday the 5th of October, the members of Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s skating team were presented to the media. For coach Jac Orie’s team, this moment was the starting signal for the 2015-2016 season.
The Dutch formation hopes to deliver top performances over the next few months from well-known names such as Sven Kramer, Hein Otterspeer, Jan Smeekens and Kjeld Nuis. Coach Orie is looking forward to stimulating the development of newcomers Patrick Roest and Sanneke Neeling, as well as that of more established talents such as Gerben Jorritsma and Roxanne van Hemert.
“Sven Kramer will do his utmost to obtain the all-round titles. In addition to this, he will focus on the 5 and 10 kilometres, and is keeping his eye on the 1500 metres,” states Orie, who believes that Kramer’s training partners Douwe de Vries and Wouter olde Heuvel will also be strong contenders for the medals. “I also have high expectations of my sprinters.”
Team Lotto NL-Jumbo’s speed-skating team for the 2015-2016 season will consist of the following names:
Sven Kramer, Wouter olde Heuvel, Douwe de Vries, Hein Otterspeer, Jan Smeekens, Kjeld Nuis, Gerben Jorritsma, Roxanne van Hemert, Sanneke de Neeling and Patrick Roest. Its coaches will be Jac Orie, Bjarne Rykkje and Sicco Janmaat.
