TEAM LOTTONL-JUMBO FULL OF AMBITION FOR 2017's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands - 28 December 2016

At a team presentation last week, Team LottoNL-Jumbo, who are sponsored by BrandLoyalty, revealed their plans for 2017. With several new additions the team has huge ambitions for the start of the season next month.

“Today’s cycling needs a more specific focus on tasks,” General Manager Richard Plugge explained. “Preparation, both physical and mental, and materials are important. They are just as important as a performance on the road. This needs a 100 per cent focus. We are already working this way, but with a clearer delineation for 2017.”

The team plans to continue to build on sprint and general classification, with Dylan Groenewegen, set to win sprints and with Steven Kruijswijk, hopes are high for the Giro being the ultimate goal. After demonstrating in 2016 that he can ride for the win in a grand tour, Kruijswijk starts 2017 with the goal of winning the pink jersey in the Giro d’Italia.  He signed a new contract this year and has full confidence to go for a grand tour victory with Team LottoNL-Jumbo. Steven commented: “Every moment from now on is centred on that great goal, the Giro. We will do everything to be at the start in top form.”

Newcomer to the team for 2017 is Dutchman Lars Boom, acting as leader he will start in the big spring-classics being supported in the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.

The Tour de France is the biggest race of the year, with Team LottoNL-Jumbo, we want to race attractively, aiming for stage victories.
